This half ounce of putty is very small and compact (think of a half ounce lead shot). I use this for fly fishing on lakes, adding just a little weight 6-12 inches in front of my nymphs, When it sticks everything works great, when it sticks. . . does not work well on slippery lines (mono, or florocarbon and anything similar are not going to give good adhesion) but uncoated (and older) spider-wire does work fairly well. If you fish where there are bluegill (like I do) they can get overzealous and attack the noodle of weight causing it to slide or in some extreme cases tear it off (good thing I only use about 1/50th of the putty at any one time).

pros:
-SMALL quantities of weight easy to apply
-Easy to remove from the line when done
-Easy to fine tune exact quantities of weight for water depth, and retrieve speed
